MARRIAGE COUNSELING:

Good things have come to me and our marriage since I met Beverly; I call her my Guardian Angel! She has helped me get through very rough times like no one else has. My life has been a rollercoaster and I just wanted to get off. Beverly speaks words through Christ that give me strength and encouragement to carry on.

She believes in me, and talks to me via phone and email, just to see how I am doing. I feel such comfort when I am around Beverly. God has chosen her to do His work! She is wonderful! I feel like she rescued me from the devil and has given me a sense of hope and expanded my faith. Beverly is very warm and caring with great empathy towards others. A.D.

Beverly has such a good insight into marriage and the related problems which are so common. Sometimes you need someone else's view and direction, someone who isn't biased to either spouse. She lays out what marriage is and what it isn't in a clear manner. She is a great coach in an area where there is so much bad information. She was able to tell who I was better than I knew who I was... She showed me my strengths and weaknesses and taught me how to use them to benefit my marriage, wife, family and life. I'm truly grateful and thankful to God for His mercy, grace, blessings and Beverly! I encourage everyone to seek her counsel and to tell your friends that there is hope. F.C.

I don't consider Beverly to be just a counselor, although that is the capacity in which we first met. I consider her a Godsend and a friend. Bev really got me through some tough times in my marriage, and even after I was no longer seeing her as a client, she has remained in touch with me and kept up with me and was genuinely interested in my life and spiritual well-being. My husband also thinks very highly of Beverly. Even though he has never met her, he saw a wonderful change in me and still encourages me to seek her help and advice when I am troubled about things. I can't thank her enough for putting me on the right track and for the comfort of knowing she is always only a phone call or email away. She is truly one of God’s agents here on earth who helps make living the life easier for me and for so many. K.M.

I do believe God directed me to Beverly. She helped me with priorities in life, and shared spiritual knowledge that helped me build a stronger relationship with God, my husband and myself. She helped my husband and me with our communication problems.

I had lived with phobias and fears for most of my life. After years of medication, psychiatrists and psychologists, my phobias were still strong. Beverly helped me achieve an easier life. She worked hard with me on my set ways, habits and fears. I now am able to fly, drive a car and drive across bridges, and even ride my own motorcycle with my husband. I thank God He put Beverly in my path. She is a great coach, counselor, teacher and support. With her help, I feel free. R.R.

FROM INDIVIDUALS:

I cannot say enough good things about Beverly's counseling abilities. Her knowledge, wisdom, training, and especially her anointing constitute a very unique package that has helped me beyond words. I would unequivocally recommend her to anyone. A.C.

I have had many problems dealing with a stepfamily situation and Beverly has been my friend and counselor for years. I don’t know that I would have been able to cope with all the problems if it had not been for her Godly advice and friendship. She has an extraordinary gift for knowing exactly the right thing to say to help, and does it with grace and humor. She is truly gifted with her knowledge of God’s Word and her ability to hear from Him in giving advice, even when it is painful to receive.

She has helped me set boundaries that have allowed me to have peace that I really did not believe was possible. She was always there for me and always had an encouraging word along with the good advice. I will always remember her advice and counsel as one of the best things that ever happened to me. I truly believe that God sent her into my life because He knew I certainly needed her there!!! I will be eternally grateful. S.A.

Beverly definitely has a gift and she chooses to use it to help others. I know that she doesn’t mind when I call or email her, for she takes on any particular situation. I love her and thank God that He chose to bring us together. I am blessed to have her in my life.

God has blessed me to be able to contribute a little bit to ministries that He leads me to help. And Water’s Edge is very special to me...because Beverly helped me so much!!  She definitely is gifted and called, and is obedient to that call.  Thanks so much. L.S.

I thank God for bringing Beverly into my life. She is a great mentor that has helped me understand and overcome a lot of obstacles in my life -- something that years of medication and psychologists did not do. My life has changed drastically with Beverly's help Beverly. I no longer feel overwhelmed with life and its hardships. She has pointed me in the right direction, when I felt like I was completely lost, and I truly thank God for her. M.N.

Beverly is my "Spiritual Electrician". I met her at a time in my life, as a fairly new Believer, when I had a lot of my own 'wires crossed.' I was Saved and all, but things weren't going quite right. I grew up in a terribly abusive household and began my quest for fulfillment when I escaped at 18. After a number of years of aimless wandering and 10 years in the New Age movement, I gave my life to the Lord in November 1997. Needless to say, the Lord delivered me from much!

Beverly has helped me begin to identify the roots of sabotage, sort out core issues and deal with them accordingly. She is very  astute and picks up on the inconsistencies that have so easily derailed me. She delivers counsel and advice with wit, humor and compassion. She always has a Word of encouragement or insight to offer. I honestly do not know what I would do in my life without her. She is truly a gift from God. S.M.

“NO, Mommy!” my 3-year old would yell at me when asked to do something. I would then yell back, and so would she. Here I was, a 25-year old woman, arguing with a 3-year old. I did not know how to make her respond to my requests. Negotiation became the alternative; I thought we could both win. I was wrong. My daughter became an expert negotiator. I found myself rewarding my child just to get her to follow simple rules to avoid a full-scale war.

I then attended a Boundaries course. Unlike my 3-year old, I had trouble saying “no.” I do not mean just speaking “no,” but meaning  it also. Follow-through. At the seminar I learned: “If you blank-blank, I will blank-blank,” and it has become my own personal motto. I gained a whole new perspective on my own boundaries. I was armed with new knowledge and excited about the potential results.

“No, Mommy,” my 3-year old yelled at me. Instead of yelling back, I calmly told her that she was not allowed to yell at me. If she continued to yell, she could go to her room. At first she just looked at me like, “Wow, who’s this person?” I held firm and repeated my blank-blank motto. She then did something I’ll never forget; she turned around and went to her room! I did not set a time for her, so after a couple of minutes she came out and said, “You don’t yell at Mommy. That’s not nice, huh?”  “Right,” I said. This  Boundaries course not only taught me to say “no” and mean it, but it also taught my 3-year old to hear “no.”  L.C.

Ms. Beverly certainly allows God to speak through her. Her sensitivity to the Spirit has helped her identify many of the issues I struggled with. Her willingness to allow God to lead her in her counseling has helped change my life forever. After suffering many years with addictions, fears, and anger due to sexual abuse as a child, Ms. Beverly began counseling me and now after continued efforts I AM FREE! She has been such an encouragement for me. God knew I needed someone like Ms. Beverly to assist me with the deep wounds. I am so grateful for her ministry and her love for not only the Lord, but for me. Thank you so much, Water's Edge. K.B.

I’ve known Beverly for many years – well before she became a licensed counselor. Even then, she exhibited a strong caring for  others with a depth of spiritual insight for personal ministry. When going through her own trials, Beverly has steadfastly relied on God’s strength and direction – providing her a basis to encourage others to do the same. It seemed very natural when Beverly made the commitment to develop and use her God-given gift to help others recognize their individual worth, work through problems God’s way, understand the great love He has for them, and accept His provision for an abundant life.

Beverly has the ability to “cut through” emotions that can distort an issue (without discounting the validity of those emotions) and gently and prayerfully direct one back onto the richness of God’s path. Beverly is careful to reflect God’s guidance, based on Biblical truths -- not her own judgment or opinions. I have been the grateful recipient of Beverly’s Godly counsel, and highly recommend her to anyone going through a difficult time and seeking direction. She is a treasured friend as well as God’s servant, and I am grateful for her imprint in my life. D.B.

Beverly is my motivator, mentor, and spiritual guide. She is an awesome teacher, counselor and support. She has reaffirmed God’s promise when I need to hear it. She knows what to say and when to say it. She has taught me to stand strong on God’s word and to have boundaries. I feel that God put Beverly in my path for me to be the person He wants me to be. Beverly has put me back on  the right path with God and His son, Jesus. I have found a church where I can go to worship the Lord and fellowship. God is an awesome God!  I thank God everyday not only for my blessings and the blessings that are to come but also for putting Beverly in my life. M.L.

Beverly is a great listener, a great motivator and a spiritual leader. It would be a pleasure to refer anyone to Beverly's counseling sessions. I am confident that no matter what situation you're facing, Beverly will guide you to your true identity in Christ. M.S.

One of the marks of a successful counselor is the ability to "get down in the trenches" with those being counseled. Not everyone is willing to do this. Beverly, on the other hand, is very willing to get her feet wet. She knows how to be firm, encouraging and available. She also knows how to walk with you in whatever you are going through. When someone is closed and "shut-down", only a certain kind of person can open them up. Beverly has just the right ingredients to tug at the strings of your heart. In my own case, Beverly was first my co-worker at a law firm, then my friend, then my adviser. We can all benefit from her very wise, yet simplistic approach. M.B.

God has truly used the ministry of Beverly in my life. We have been friends through many years and she has encouraged me with biblical principles that are delivered with love, sometimes tough love!  Her prayers are so faith-filled. The counsel of an objective and Spirit-filled woman is really welcome, especially in a crisis, big or small. I am truly blessed to be a recipient of His wisdom through   her training and leading. M.H.

Beverly is full of God’s wisdom and has greatly comforted me in times of sorrow and wisely guided me in organizing my thoughts and emotions in times of great distress. She has encouraged me, boosted my self-esteem, helped me see my situations from God’s perspective, helped me gain a clearer understanding of God’s direction for my life, and lifted me up in prayer. And… she helped me to stop smoking! I am thankful to God for her genuine concern, time, prayers, love and friendship. It’s meant so much to me. T.B.

Several years ago I began realizing that a lot of my relationships were falling apart. I would have a thought, be offended for the umpteenth time, or say something without thinking and wonder “where did that come from”?  Like many Christians, I had learned to cope very well, but the truth is that God didn’t give his son so that we could learn to cope. He gave him so that we could experience complete freedom.

I met Beverly at a Bible Study, “Freedom from Your Past.” I connected with her spirit and thought that I had nothing to lose. She was able to help me see who I was in Christ and lead me to forgive the mother who had left me as a child and the father who was distant and abusive. She also told me that God never wastes a hurt. Today, I am working with an organization called Christian   Women’s Job Corps. We minister to women like my mother and I am able to better understand the choices that she made, and to let young women know that God has a plan for their lives that includes freedom.

It would take a book to write the flood of blessings that God has poured out on my life as a result of my healing. Some of the best include restored relationships, a joy that I thought would never be possible, finding God’s purpose for me and knowing the grace of God that is finally enough. I will forever appreciate Beverly for leading me through the steps that made this possible. B.N.
